Add Word Documents as Reports

Using the JP DM add-in, you can add a copy of a Word document as a report to a workspace that you have proper permissions. A report can have an outline which enables you to easily organize the content using sections.

Note: A user with a Viewer license cannot use the Add as Report feature of the JP DM add-in.

  1. Open a Word document from your local disk, or open a Word document from the Disclosure Management website..
  2. On the ribbon, select the JP DM tab and click Add as Report.
  3. Type the email address of your insightsoftware account in the Login window if it prompts and click Continue.
  4. JP DM displays the Add as Report panel. When you are adding a document that isn't in a workspace, JP DM displays Step 1 of the add process. Select the workspace you want to add the report to and click Next. You can expand each workspace to review some additional information, such as when it was created, how many team members are working in the workspace, and the documents it currently contains.

    Select Workspace to Add Report

When you are adding a document that is already in a workspace, you cannot select another workspace for the report and are directed to Step 2 of the process.

  5. Step 2 of the add process is to define the report details. Specify the report name, due date, and language and region options, and if necessary, provide a description for the report, then click Add as report. The language setting determines the format of the variable values in the report that are locale sensitive, such as the date and time formats, and number and currency formats.

    Define Report Details

  6. In the prompt message box, select Yes.
  7. The report is now being created in the specified workspace, and you can view the progress.

    Creating the Report in Workspace

  8. Once the report is created successfully, you can click Open Report to open it from the specified workspace and start editing the report outline and use dynamic content in it for your narrative reporting.
