Work with the XBRL Hub

The XBRL Hub of the JP DM add-in provides centralized interface for tagging, reviewing, and validating your report against specific taxonomy. It automates the process of eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging for compliance with XBRL mandates around the world.

To apply taxonomy tags to a report, you must have created an XBRL project for the report to associate it with a taxonomy on the Disclosure Management website.

Tag a Report

  1. Open the report from the Disclosure Management website.
  2. On the ribbon, select the JP DM tab and click XBRL Hub.
  3. Type the email address of your insightsoftware account in the Login window if it prompts and click Continue.
  4. The XBRL Hub panel opens, showing the XBRL tab with AI-generated tag suggestions for the current report section (the section you have your cursor in). You can switch the scope to view tag suggestions for the selected content or the entire document.

  5. The taxonomy is loaded in English by default. Click the language button to change the language as you need.
  6. Review the list of tag suggestions — each shows the concept name, value, and confidence percentage. You can click a suggestion to locate the value in the report and hover over a suggestion to see the concept details. When you point to and in a suggestion, you can view the dimensions and properties about the element; when you click , you can see more suggestions for the value.
  7. To search for a tag suggestion, type the keyword in the Search box. You can also filter the suggestions by status, confidence level, element types, and elements.

  8. Click the Tag button in a suggestion to apply it.
  9. You can also select any content in the report and click Create to tag the content with the element you want or create an extended element to tag the content.

  10. After reviewing individual suggestions, click Apply All Suggestions to bulk-apply the high-confidence tags. JP DM then tags your report values according to the filtered list. For example, if only three suggestions are listed based on your selection or the filter you specified, only those three suggestions will be applied. The report will contain other suggestions for the rest of the data.

Element Details

For each tag suggestion, you can click Details to view the related element details. JP DM displays the details in several tabs. Switch between the tabs to view the concept, properties, labels, references, calculations, footnotes, roles, and anchoring of the element.

In the element details panel, you can also:

  • Click Apply to tag the value according to this suggestion.
  • Click Ignore to ignore the suggestion. Once ignored, JP DM no longer lists the suggestion for the value in your later tagging.
  • Click More suggestions to get more tag suggestions for the value. JP DM then displays what elements other similar industry filers are using for tagging this particular value.

You can perform the following for these alternative suggestions:

    • Select a suggestion to make it the default suggestion for the value or ignore the suggestion.
    • Hover over a suggestion and click Details to view the element details.
    • Hover over a suggestion and click Extend to create an extended element from it.
    • Hover over a suggestion and click Tag to apply it.

Extended Element

You can extend the taxonomy to include any entity specific elements that you need to correctly tag the reported facts.

  1. Type the standard label of the element.
  2. Select the relationship between the base and extended elements: Sibling, Child, or Parent. The Extended structure box displays a diagram according to your selection.
  3. Click Extend.

Edit Elements

After applying tags, you can edit details of the corresponding elements.

  1. In the XBRL tab of the XBRL Hub panel, click Details in a tag.
  2. In the element details panel, click the Edit icon on the top right. The details then become editable. Select the tabs to edit the element. You can also click Detach to remove the tag.
    • In the Concept tab, you can swap the concept, click the plus sign to add dimensions to the concept, and click the ellipse of a dimension to edit or remove the dimension. When you change a dimension, you can choose to apply the change to other tags you have added in the report at the same time if you want.

    • In the Properties tab, modify the element properties.

    • In the Label tab, add more label to the element. You can add Standard, Terse, Verbose, and Documentation labels.

  3. You can also bulk-edit some common properties of the elements such as Date, Accuracy, and Scale. To do this, click the Edit icon next to the search box in the XBRL tab. JP DM then displays checkboxes for the tags you have applied in the report.

  4. Select the checkboxes for the elements you want to edit and click the Edit button at the bottom.
  5. The Edit panel indicates how many elements you have selected to edit. You can click Change to go back to the tag list to change the selection. Modify the editable properties of the elements and click Update.

Validate Your Report

While you are tagging your report, validations will run automatically. You can go to the Validate panel to see if something is wrong with the calculation or with a specific tag or specific regulatory rules and fix them accordingly.
