Manage Taxonomies

On the Disclosure Management website, base SEC and ESMA taxonomies are maintained. Users with the Power User or Admin license type can import extension of them to use for the company's reporting needs. An extension taxonomy is an extension of a base taxonomy that includes all the changes required for the specific reporting requirements of an entity.

You can import multiple extension taxonomies to the Disclosure Management site and associate them with your reports, where the taxonomies can be used for tagging purposes.

You can imported taxonomy files that are on a local system, a connected network, or a website.

To import extension for an SEC or ESMA taxonomy:

  1. Select the Taxonomy Management icon in the left navigation bar of the Disclosure Management website. The Taxonomy Management page displays. You can view some general information about the base taxonomies and the extension taxonomies that you have imported in the page, for example, the amount of elements a taxonomy contains and the number of projects that use the taxonomy.

  2. Click the Import Extension button in the SEC or ESMA card in the Base Templates section. The Import User Taxonomy Extension dialog displays.

  3. To import taxonomy from URL:
    1. In the Taxonomy URL field, type the location of the taxonomy files by using the URL of the entry point. The file must be an XBRL entry point file.
    2. In the Taxonomy Name, specify a name for the taxonomy.
  4. To import from file, select From File as the import source, then:

    1. Click in the Select File box to browse to the location of the zip file or taxonomy files and select the zip or all of the files that are related to the taxonomy.
    2. In the Entry Point field, specify the entry point file. At least one file must be an XBRL entry point file.
    3. In the Taxonomy Name, specify a name for the taxonomy.
  5. The Regulator field displays the base taxonomy and cannot be changed.
  6. Click Import to start importing.
